Marriage Material...Reading Material That Is

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few decades, it's no secret that the divorce rate is lingering around a sky high 65%. Too high if you ask me. The common problem...no one seems to be doing anything about it. So, what can we do. I hope we all agree that marriage is something worth keeping, today, tomorrow, and forever. That's not to say that everyday is sunflowers and candy, but when those days happen, they kick the thunderstorms right out of your mind.

Most importantly, remember why you married your spouse, if you can't, make up a reason and go with it. You decided to say "I Do", don't turn back now because you wish you could go on vacation alone. Give your spouse a chance to enjoy you and to be enjoyed.

It is common to see a husband and wife treating each other worse than they treat anyone else, this is a big no-no. They need to be the person you treat the best: with respect, love, laughter, and thoughtfulness. Also, don't forget they are your God-given sexual partner, so let them be and no one else.  Some reading material that will remind you how to treat your spouse can be found in the Love Dare. Sometimes life gets busy, but don't forget to treat your spouse well. This book covers many topics that will put your spouse back on their pedestal. Where they should be in your eyes.

If you want to watch a movie, I recommend Fireproof. The film has a positive outlook on marriage and  it values the importance of the husband and wife relationship. It is a great reminder for you and your spouse to see.

Other great and helpful readings are: The 5 Love Languages, Sacred Marriage, Sheet Music: Uncovering Sexual Intimacy

Remember...be a spouse worth loving, admiring, and respecting. Because it is hard to give something to someone who doesn't deserve it.

No one wants their marriage to look like this!
